Just when you think the world can't get any crazier, it does.
These last few days have been been a little crazy. I heard a story on the news yesterday about a woman who lay dying on the floor at a store after being stabbed in a fight. People in the store continued to step over and around her to continute their shopping. Oh wait, one person did stop.... TO TAKE A PICTURE!
Then, on Tuesday, we witnessed what I would like to call the most disturbing thing I've ever seen. A man trying to strangle a woman, who he claims stole his car, in broad daylight. They were fighting for the wheel of the car as she had her foot on the accelerator, hit a couple of cars on their way to the final crash that stopped the car. The man continued to strangle her as she was sitting on the driver seat, dragged her out of the car and continued.
Everyone looked on in awe, we were all ON HOLD with 911 until my husband decided he had to do something before he killed her. In the middle of the day, busy intersection, many watching, no one helping. We have become so numb, I think, that everyone wants someone else to do something.
So, I have to say, that I see my husband with new found respect. He risked his own safety because he couldn't just wait for someone else to do the right thing... HE DID IT! He was able to get the woman away from the man and stand in the middle of the two until police arrived.... AFTER I hung up the phone with 911 and called in directly to the local police department. What does it take these days for people to do the right thing?
Now, this story I read is the icing on the cake. What kind of woman/monster allows a boyfriend or any living creature to harm their offspring, their own flesh and blood, and do absolutely nothing? In fact, run away with him as police are searching for them. READ the story to get an idea of what I'm talking about.
How do you stand by and let someone hurt a child .... and not think twice about it. I always hear or read about these women that are so afraid of losing their man that they allow them to do whatever they want to their children. And to those woman I say "PLEASE STOP REPRODUCING" If you can't protect your children with every fiber of your being, don't have any. They are to be protected by any who wishes them harm, even if it's someone close to us.
And to those who are brave enough to do the right thing, GOD BLESS YOU!
